How can I comb out a knotted synthetic wig?

Are there any cheap products I can put into the wig (like detanglers) that can help me comb out knots and tangles without ruining the wig?
The wig is all synthetic hair, and the hair is about 1 1/2 feet long.

products will not help. just start at the bottom, and work your way up, combing out every snag and snarl. its a pain in the a** i know, but patience and perseverance is what it takes.
